Peter Wakefield, CEO. Peter first joined Associated Surveyors and Test Laboratories in January 1979 as a trainee in the cotton controlling and marine surveying divisions. In 1983 he joined Edward T Robertson and Son (ETR), the leading Cotton Controlling company of the time, as the Manager of their Taiwan office. In 1993 he assumed the position of Managing Director of the Wakefield Inspection Services Group, the position he maintains today. In the same year, Peter was elected to join the then Liverpool Cotton Association (LCA) where he twice served as the Chairman of the Rules Committee. After the change of name to the International Cotton Association (ICA) Peter was elected President in 2005 and he remains active in the Association today. Peter is based in Shanghai and focuses on WIS clients in Asia.
Greg Wakefield, President of WIS, United States. Greg has been in the cotton industry for over 25 years and focuses on WIS clients in the Americas. He has been a member of the International Cotton Association Rules Committee and is currently a member of the Board of Directors. Greg is also an Associate Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the American Cotton Shippers Association. Greg graduated from the Memphis Cotton School where he is a regular guest teacher.
Eddie Toolan CFO. Eddie, a qualified ACCA accountant heads the WIS Group finance department and overseas the Group legal and contract review functions. He joined Wakefield Inspection Services in 1997 and has since played a central role in the expansion and development of the Wakefield Inspection Services Group. Prior to WIS, he trained as an accountant with PwC after which he moved into the publishing industry where he was closely involved in successfully structuring the sale of the ABI Group to Bertelsmann. Eddie graduated with an Honours degree in Mathematics.
Gary Whittington, General Manager. With 20 years service with WIS, Gary is responsible for overseeing all WIS operations for EMEA and Indian clients, including cotton controlling services, inspection services, collateral management and stock checking. During his 20 years service, Gary has spent time in various WIS offices including USA and China and is currently based in Liverpool.
Bryant Rawley, Vice President, Wakefield Inspection Services, Inc. Bryant has worked for WIS since 2004 and focuses his attention on daily operational issues, including stock checking and collateral management of soft commodities. He also provides direction for the IXCCS (Import Export Commodity Control System) software used throughout the WIS Group offices. Prior to WIS, Bryant worked in the software industry for 9 years. Bryant is an Associate Member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the American Cotton Shippers Association as well as a member of the ICA and other regional cotton associations. Bryant graduated with a Computer Information Systems degree.
